MIKE WILLIS: Executive Director, South Texas Manufacturers Association

Mike Willis has been Executive Director of the South Texas Manufacturers Association since 2003. Mike has 25 years’ experience as both a Plant Manager and Operations Manager in the manufacturing sector. For the past ten years, he has also worked in leadership positions in the Business Services division at Workforce Solutions, the regional Workforce Development Board serving Willacy, Starr, and Hidalgo Counties.

Mike has served as a Board member of the RGV Society for Human Resource Management chapter, as a board member of the McAllen Chamber of Commerce, and serves on the leadership team of the North American Advanced Manufacturing Research and Education Initiative (NAAMREI). Mike graduated from UT Pan American with a BBA in Management, with a specialization in Human Resource Management.

“We want to take STMA to the next level,” Willis told the Rio Grande Guardian and RGV Public Radio 88 FM, in an exclusive interview. “The board and I have been planning for some time, for several years in fact,  how to map out a long-term, sustainable future for STMA, one that secures it financially for the long term.”

The South Texas Manufacturers Association is located in McAllen, Texas and is the leading manufacturing resource for South Texas, Northeastern Mexico, and surrounding areas. It is a non-profit organization that services the manufacturing community and it’s service providers.
