Maureen Plunkett is the Director of the Center for Heat Treating Excellence (CHTE). Maureen Plunkett is also the executive Administrator for WPI’s Metal Processing Institute which includes the Center for Resource Recovery and Recycling (CR3) and the Center for Heat Treating Excellence (CHTE).
Heat treat researchers and engineers at the Center for Heat Treating Excellence are supported by Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), one of the best technological universities in the country.
The CHTE team consists of pioneers in thermal processing and thermal engineering, heat treating process simulation, carburizing, nitriding, quenching, diffusion and residual stress. Our team continues to win heat treating awards and recognition for its outstanding work.
We solve problems related to materials performance through heat treatment. Our focus is on what we can achieve with materials by means of heat treatment and thermal chemical surface engineering. At the Center for Heat Treating Excellence (CHTE), we work together with industry members to improve heat treating processes. We can do the same for your organization.
