MARK MECKLENBORG: Executive Director American Ceramic Society (ACerS)

Mark Mecklenborg is the Executive Director of the American Ceramic Society (ACerS).  Mark Mecklenborg is a results-oriented leader with nearly 30 years of association management experience focusing on volunteer leadership, strategic planning, meetings and exhibits, product management, marketing, publications, and member services.

Mecklenborg joined the Society in 1995 and currently is the director of membership, meetings, and publications. Mecklenborg’s achievements include launching two new journals—the International Journal of Applied Ceramic Technology and the International Journal of Applied Glass Science—and negotiating a long-term publishing agreement with Wiley.

 Under his leadership, the Society introduced new membership opportunities for graduate students, expanded its local Section network, and started new Chapters for international members.

The mission of ACerS is to advance the study, understanding, and use of ceramics and related materials, for the benefit of our members and society. More than 10,000 scientists, engineers, researchers, manufacturers, plant personnel, educators, students, marketing and sales professionals from more than 70 countries make up the members of The American Ceramic Society.
