PROF PIERRE PIENAAR: President World Packaging Organization (WPO)

Prof Pierre Pienaar is the President of the World Packaging Organization (WPO). He had been National Chairman of the South African Institute of Packaging (IPSA), as well as President of the Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP). I am currently the Education Director for the AIP and President of the World Packaging Organisation.

I have lectured in the technology and science of packaging at various universities and institutions for the past 26 years. I am a professional member of the Australian Institute of Food, Science and Technology, an honorary member of IPSA, a Fellow of the AIP and a Certified Packaging Professional IoPP/AIP (USA and Australia). World Packaging Organisation (WPO) is a non-profit, non-governmental, international federation of packaging institutes, associations, federations and other interested parties including corporations and trade associations. Its mission is “Better quality of life through better packaging for more people”. WPO joins 76 members from around the globe, which also includes Honorary Members (12), Affiliate Members (7) and a Regional Federation (1).
