FSM 22000 (http://www.FSM22000.com) was established in New York City, well-known for being the most highly competitive restaurant market in country, and has grown into a leading quality safe food (QSF) management standard. Being FSM 22000 certified enables restaurants to have a third party quality management system in place to demonstrate a commitment to food safety, customer service and food quality. Less than 250 of New York's 24,000 restaurants have been able achieve FSM 22000 certification, including historical Fraunces Tavern, one of the oldest restaurants in the country, and Fino's Ristorante, one of Manhattan's finest restaurants and a Wall Street landmark. Recently FSM 22000 has expanded into Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Jersey.
